The R. Hanauer Process

At R. Hanauer, our bow ties are created, packaged, and shipped from our workshop that is located in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Our father and son duo, Randy and Randall Hanauer, uphold the ideal of a family owned business by making it their priority to produce products of the utmost quality and style. The Hanauer men make it their priority to always remain closely involved in every step of the creation process, and they do so by hand selecting the cotton, linen, silk, and wool fabrics that are used to create the products that make up each collection of bow ties. Many of our bow tie collections feature English wool and Italian silks that derive from well-known, international mills. R. Hanauer collections offer only the finest fabrics and craftsmanship to produce exceptional accessories for the distinguished gentleman.

Handmade Bow Ties

In our workshop located on Main Street in Fort Mill, our dedicated team consists of talented seamstresses who create and hand make each of our bow ties for our various collections. For a more personal touch, we also fulfill made to order requests for the gentleman who seeks a customized look. When an order is placed, the creation process officially begins. The bow tie fabric is placed on the cutting table where the first step of the production, the bias cut, is performed. A bias cut allows for an effortless stretch of the fabric, which makes certain that the product is easy to tie and will look its best for many years to come. Once your product is finished, we will carefully place your bow tie in one of our classic R. Hanauer boxes, and ship it directly to you for your very own stylish enjoyment and good use.

One thing that places us a cut above other bow tie manufacturers is the fact that we locally produce bow ties, and other menswear accessories. We are proud to make products, such as our coral bow ties, neckties, and cummerbunds that assist gentlemen in achieving a look that is sharp and true to their very own style.

The Meaning Behind the Color Coral

Coral is known as a universal color, simply because it complements any skin tone, and can be worn with a multitude of other colors. Coral is visually defined as a red or pink toned orange, and the color is accredited to the marine life that is known by the very same name.

While there are many shades of coral, each is symbolic of a new beginning, which brings a fresh perspective to one’s wardrobe. A gentleman who incorporates coral into his wardrobe is in tune with his own classic style, while still appreciating the most up to date trends of the season.

When to Wear a Coral Bow Tie

Due to its versatility, coral can be worn with colors such as teal, aqua, navy, and white. Pair a coral bow with either a gray, black, or navy suit and a pressed white shirt, and you will have a look that is both vibrant and classic. A coral bow tie would be most appropriate during the seasons of spring and summer, and it would be an excellent focal point for a sharp look to wear to a springtime social or a summer outing.

Spring is the season of new life and rebirth, meaning that a gentleman could style a coral, R. Hanauer bow tie during the warmer months of spring, and especially during the Easter season.

Coral is also a popular color choice for summer weddings and proms, and many individuals also wear the color for special events such as graduation. Another potential event to wear a coral bow tie would be the Carolina Cup, which is a horse race held in Camden, South Carolina, or even the Kentucky Derby. Pastels, seersucker, and coral are all well-favored choices for a gentleman to sport at events such as these because they are both excellent occasions to showcase your very best spring attire.

A coral bow tie adds a brilliant contribution to any ensemble, and it suggests that a gentleman is light-hearted and approachable in nature. At R. Hanauer, we offer an assortment of coral bow ties that feature energetic florals and paisleys, lively polka dots, intricate geometric patterns, and dashing stripes.
